Things That Bothered Me Today

Interviewer: When performing on stages in front of mass audiences, what happens inside you?

• David: I get, uh, I think my adrenaline level goes up. I lose my appetite- I think adrenaline does that. And I, uh, I sweat a lot. I get pretty nervous, although I don't- And sometimes I have to, uh, take a shit a couple of times before you go on. I guess that's 'cause of the nerves- course the adrenaline could do that, too. Uh, let's see what else… I guess I get sort of fidgety… Um, If I have any illness like a cold or a stomach illness or anything like that, it disappears very shortly- just before we play, and then about an hour after we finish playing, it comes back just the way it was before. But for that period - it's real bizarre! - it's like, if I have a stuffed up nose or anything it just *phwit*, everything, all the symptoms disappear, and then afterwards it all comes back and I feel sick again.
